What this means for you
The numbers say more about the odds than the result PDF does. Of 2,82,823 valid applicants, 1,28,482 sat the paper - well under half - so the real competition is always smaller than the application count suggests. Two thresholds decide a borderline case: the PET shortlist runs at five times the vacancies in each category, and a score below 30 percent fails regardless of rank. If you are shortlisted, the next hurdle is physical, not academic; the Board announces the PET date and the documents to carry in a separate notice on csbc.bihar.gov.in, so watch the site rather than wait for a message.
