SSC GD Constable 2026: PET/PST shortlists re-issued showing both the category applied under and the category considered against
The Staff Selection Commission, which declared the result of the Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026 on 12.10.2026, issued a clarification on 23.10.2026 after representations about the categories shown in List-I (Female) and List-II (Male) of candidates provisionally shortlisted for the next stage. It says that some candidates who applied under the SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM categories qualified the Computer Based Examination (CBE) on the standards prescribed for Unreserved (UR) candidates, so their category was shown as UR. The Commission has now uploaded detailed lists that show both the category under which each candidate applied and the category against which they have been considered: List-I of female candidates and List-II of male candidates other than SSF, provisionally shortlisted for PET/PST. All other terms and conditions of the CBE result remain unchanged.

What this means for you
Open the list for your gender, find your roll number and read the two category columns: the category you applied under and the category you are considered against. The notice only adds this detail to the lists and says all other terms of the result remain unchanged. If you applied as SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM and appear against UR, you qualified the CBE on the UR standard; keep your category certificate ready all the same, because certificates are checked at later stages of the recruitment. Prepare for the PET/PST as before, and if an entry looks wrong, write to SSC quoting your roll number rather than relying on a copy of the list circulated elsewhere.
