RRB NTPC Salary 2026: Official Pay Level and Job Profile

RRB NTPC fills non-technical posts across Indian Railways. The October 2026 notifications list eight posts in two groups: graduate-level posts in CEN 06/2026 and 12th-level posts in CEN 07/2026. This page gives only what those notifications print: post names, 7th CPC pay level, initial pay, qualification and medical standard. The notifications do not describe each post’s day-to-day duties.

Two groups of posts, two notifications

A candidate applies to one RRB and gives an order of preference for posts and railway zones within it. Posts are allotted on merit, preference, medical fitness and the vacancies on the date the panel is prepared; once empanelled, a candidate gives up the right to be considered for any other post in the same pay level.

Selected candidates undergo training wherever it is prescribed, and the notifications say only a stipend is paid during training. A railway servant is ordinarily employed throughout service on the railway or unit of first appointment, and the notifications say no transfer request is registered until the new appointee has completed at least 5 to 10 years of service.

The posts, as the notifications list them

Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor (CEN 06/2026)

Pay Level 6, initial pay ₹35,400. Medical standard B-2. Qualification: a degree from a recognised university or its equivalent.

Goods Train Manager (CEN 06/2026)

Pay Level 5, initial pay ₹29,200. Medical standard A-2; the notification makes candidates who have had Lasik or similar refractive surgery ineligible for A-2 posts. Qualification: a degree from a recognised university or its equivalent.

Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist (CEN 06/2026)

Pay Level 5, initial pay ₹29,200. Medical standard C-2. Qualification: a degree from a recognised university or its equivalent.

Senior Clerk cum Typist (CEN 06/2026)

Pay Level 5, initial pay ₹29,200. Medical standard C-2. Qualification: a degree from a recognised university or its equivalent.

Commercial cum Ticket Clerk (CEN 07/2026)

Pay Level 3, initial pay ₹21,700. Medical standard B-2. Qualification: 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate, a condition not insisted on for SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen and candidates with a higher qualification.

Accounts Clerk cum Typist (CEN 07/2026)

Pay Level 2, initial pay ₹19,900. Medical standard C-2. Qualification: 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate, with the same exceptions.

Junior Clerk cum Typist (CEN 07/2026)

Pay Level 2, initial pay ₹19,900. Medical standard C-2. Qualification: 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate, with the same exceptions.

Trains Clerk (CEN 07/2026)

Pay Level 2, initial pay ₹19,900. Medical standard A-3; the notification makes candidates who have had Lasik or similar refractive surgery ineligible for A-3 posts. Qualification: 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate, with the same exceptions.

Promotion

The notifications do not set out a promotion path. For the typist posts they say the typing skill test has been dispensed with, that typing proficiency will be assessed after joining, and that unsatisfactory performance may affect or delay confirmation or promotion.

Pay: the level and initial pay the notifications print

The notifications give a 7th CPC pay level and an initial pay for each post: Level 6, ₹35,400 (Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor); Level 5, ₹29,200 (Goods Train Manager, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist); Level 3, ₹21,700 (Commercial cum Ticket Clerk); Level 2, ₹19,900 (Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk).

The notifications give no in-hand salary, allowance or benefit figures, so this page does not estimate any.

CEN 06/2026 covers four graduate-level posts and CEN 07/2026 four 12th-level posts. Each notification lists vacancies RRB-wise and railway-zone-wise, and says they may increase or decrease with the needs of the Railway Administration.
