BSSC Inter Level Salary 2025: Official Pay Levels and Job Profile

The BSSC Inter Level exam fills many different posts across Bihar government departments from one exam. Advt. Many posts under one exam

Advt. No. 02/23 (A) lists posts in Bihar government departments and district collectorates, each with its own pay level and minimum qualification. Every post needs an Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent pass, and some ask for more, such as particular subjects at Intermediate or typing skills. After the Preliminary examination, the Commission will publish a separate advertisement for the Main examination and will then ask candidates for their order of post preference. The list below is not complete; every post is in the advertisement’s table.

The advertisement does not describe day-to-day duties; those are set by the department concerned. Reservation applies only to permanent residents of Bihar, and the 35% horizontal reservation for women applies only to Bihar domiciles.

Lower Division Clerk (Pay Level 2)

In most departments and district collectorates. Needs Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent with knowledge of computer operation and computer typing; some departments instead ask for typing on a typewriter and Hindi word processing on a computer, or Hindi and English typing.

Revenue Employee, Revenue and Land Reforms Department (Pay Level 2)

Needs Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent.

Panchayat Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department (Pay Level 3)

Needs Intermediate or an equivalent examination. Typing on a computer and knowledge of MS Office are desirable.

Junior Field Investigator, Directorate of Economics and Statistics (Pay Level 2)

Needs Intermediate passed with one of Mathematics, Economics or Statistics.

Livestock Assistant, Animal and Fisheries Resources Department (Pay Level 2)

Needs Intermediate with Biology, or an equivalent with Biology.

Laboratory Assistant, Rural Works Department (Pay Level 3)

Needs Intermediate or 10+2 passed with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

Filaria Inspector, Health Department (Pay Level 4)

Needs Intermediate/10+2 in Science.

Jan Sevak Grade III, Sugarcane Industries Department (Pay Level 4)

Needs Intermediate with Mathematics.

Assistant Instructor (Typing) and Typist-cum-Clerk, Cabinet Secretariat Department

Need Intermediate or equivalent with Hindi and English typing (Hindi and English computer typing for Typist-cum-Clerk).

Pay: the levels printed in the advertisement

The advertisement prints only a pay level against each post: Level 2 for Lower Division Clerk, Revenue Employee, Junior Field Investigator and Livestock Assistant; Level 3 for Panchayat Secretary and Laboratory Assistant; and Level 4 for Filaria Inspector and Jan Sevak Grade III.
