Amit Shah to inaugurate 3rd National Conference of ANTF Heads

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah is set to inaugurate the 3rd National Conference of Heads of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of States/UTs in New Delhi on 22-23 September 2026, organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Heads of ANTFs from 36 states and Union Territories, along with other key stakeholders, will take part in a comprehensive review of anti-drug efforts so far and deliberate on a future roadmap, reinforcing the central government's stated commitment to a drug-free India. This is the third such conference in the series: the first was inaugurated by Shah in April 2023, and the second was held on 16-17 September the previous year. The recurring conference format - reviewing enforcement data, coordination gaps and strategy across every state/UT's task force in one venue - is a useful example of how India's federal anti-narcotics coordination structure works in practice.
