TDB-DST backs GalaxEye's OptoSAR multisensor satellite technology with ₹63.84 crore

The Technology Development Board (TDB), Department of Science & Technology, signed an agreement with GalaxEye Space Solutions (Bengaluru) for ₹63.84 crore financial support under the Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund, against a total approved project cost of ₹247.69 crore. The project aims to develop OptoSAR, a multisensor satellite fusing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Electro-Optical (EO) imaging to achieve sub-0.5 metre high-resolution Earth observation usable in any weather or lighting condition, and to take the technology from TRL-6 to TRL-9. Intended applications include wide-area surveillance, human and vehicle detection, and target classification, with the support provided through Optionally Convertible Debentures (OCD).
