Time allowed: 120 minutes. Negative marking: 0.25 mark is deducted for each wrong MCQ answer.

  • Section A covers General Awareness; General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability; Arithmetical & Numerical Ability; Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension; and Test of English Language & Comprehension, 20 marks each. All questions are MCQs of one mark each.
  • Questions are bilingual (Hindi and English), except the language papers, which are in the language concerned only.
  • Minimum qualifying marks apply only to the subject section (Section B); Section A has no minimum. The marks of Section A and Section B are added to prepare the final merit list.
  • Marks are normalised if required, using the formula in DSSSB Notice No. 10(271)/Sec.Cell/DSSSB/18/989 of 11 July 2018.
  • On equal marks in the same category, the candidate with more marks in the subject section ranks higher; if those are equal too, the older candidate; then the candidate whose first name comes first in English alphabetical order.
  • Draft answer keys are displayed on the DSSSB website after the exam, and objections can be filed online within the time the Board allows. There is no re-evaluation or re-checking.
  • Section A is printed as MCQs of one mark each, 20 marks for each of its five subjects (100 questions, 100 marks), so each subject is 20 questions.
  • Advertisement No. 06/2025 printed 5,346 vacancies (tentative). A corrigendum of 19 January 2026 lowered the EWS vacancies of six post codes (55/25, 56/25, 58/25, 60/25, 61/25 and 64/25) and printed no new total.
