SEMICON India 2026 showcases India's semiconductor ecosystem at Yashobhoomi

PIB's feature on SEMICON India 2026 - the fifth edition of the event, held 17-19 September 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi under the theme 'Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem' - covered its more than 600 exhibiting companies across chip design, packaging, materials and AI/HPC. Highlights included C-DAC's AUM HPC-AI Processor and 64-bit RISC-V processor, InCore Semiconductors' silicon-proven RISC-V processor IPs, and Netrasemi's 12nm AI-capable SoC for CCTV surveillance. The article placed the event in the context of Semicon 2.0, approved by the Union Cabinet in July 2026 with an outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore across six pillars (design, machines and materials, more fabs, advanced packaging, R&D, and talent). Under the Semicon India Programme, 12 semiconductor projects have been approved across six states with investment commitments exceeding ₹1.64 lakh crore, of which three facilities have already begun commercial production.
