Union Minister launches five CSIR-NIScPR popular science magazines on CSIR's 85th Foundation Day

On CSIR's 85th Foundation Day, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh launched five new popular science magazines in Assamese (Bigyan Lahar), Bengali (Bigyan Brittanto), Marathi (Vidnyan Kshitij), Tamil (Ariviyal Arikkaiyalar) and Telugu (Vigyan Velugu), published by the CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR). These join CSIR-NIScPR's existing flagship magazines Science Reporter (English), Vigyan Pragati (Hindi) and Science ki Duniya (Urdu). The initiative uses AI-assisted translation of content from the existing magazines, subsequently reviewed and fact-checked by human editors, alongside original regional-language science articles, aiming to make scientific knowledge accessible and strengthen science writing in Indian languages.
