India Ranks 10th at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, Wins 6 Silver Medals and 20 Medal for Excellence

India finished 10th at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, up from 13th place at WorldSkills Lyon 2024, fielding its largest-ever contingent of 70 competitors across 63 skill categories. India won 6 Silver medals: Smriti Nambiar (Bakery, also Best of Nation), Mohammed Salam (Dental Prosthetics Technology), Kovid Ajay Gangrade (Digital Interactive Media Design), Parth Vohra (Industrial Design Technology), Mehrunissa Begum (Logistics and Freight Forwarding), and Saniya Joshi (Retail Sales) - along with 20 Medals for Excellence. Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary congratulated the contingent, which was coordinated by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
