NMDC commissions Rs 5,427 crore Iron ore processing plant, slurry pipeline and pellet plant in Bastar, Chhattisgarh

NMDC commissioned an integrated Rs 5,427 crore project in Bastar district, Chhattisgarh, comprising a 2 million-tonnes-per-annum (MTPA) pellet plant at Nagarnar, a 135-km slurry pipeline carrying iron ore concentrate from Bacheli, and an associated ore-processing plant. The commissioning is part of NMDC's push toward its long-term target of 100 million tonnes of annual iron ore production capacity. CMD Amitava Mukherjee spoke at the commissioning, framing the project as a step toward strengthening India's domestic steel-making raw-material base and value addition within the mineral-rich Bastar region.
