CAQM Approves Revised GRAP Schedule; Tightens Measures for Vehicles, Dust and Pollution Control

At its 30th Full Commission meeting on 28 September 2026, the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM), chaired by Rajesh Verma, approved a revised Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) schedule with 48 total actions (25 in Stage-I, 8 in Stage-II, 10 in Stage-III, 5 in Stage-IV). Key changes include moving DG Set and BS-IV-and-below bus restrictions from Stage-II to Stage-I, extending BS-III petrol/BS-IV diesel four-wheeler restrictions to Sonipat alongside Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar, and removing exemptions for BS-IV-and-below goods vehicles in Stage-III/IV. The Commission also approved two new full-time Technical Members and reviewed NCR plantation progress, noting 4.13 crore of a 4.6 crore target achieved as of 22 September 2026.
